Australia is home to two distinct climates - tropical in the north and temperate in the rest (the majority) of the country. The tropical north sees only two seasons, wet and dry, and is hot throughout the year. The temperate regions experience all four seasons as normal, though reversed to those of the northern hemisphere. Average temperatures hit summer highs of around 29 degrees and winter lows of around 13 degrees, and the country sees around 3,000 hours of sunshine a year.
